ice cream!

Remember that no-churn strawberry ice cream? Well, it just happens to be the best dang ice cream I've ever had the pleasure of nomming. Even E loves it, and she doesn't usually like fruity ice cream AT ALL. It's smooth and creamy and perfectly sweetened, and pretty much we don't see the need to buy store-bought ice cream ever again. Seriously. Especially since this recipe is endlessly customizable - we want to make mint chocolate chip next, and I'd like to try one with bits of baklava in it, and, and, and... :o)

Basically, you get yourself a can of sweetened condensed milk, a pint of heavy whipping cream, and whatever you're using to flavor the ice cream. Put the sweetened condensed milk in a large bowl, and add the flavorings (vanilla, mint, chocolate, candy bits, crushed strawberries, whatever). In another bowl, whip the whipping cream til stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the milk/flavorings til combined. Pour it into a 2-quart container (i used Tupperware), cover it, and freeze for at least 6 hours. (At 5 hours, mine was frozen but scoop-able; by the next morning, we had to let it sit on the counter for ten minutes or so before scooping.) Ta-Da!

Seriously. Go browse the recipes in the link, and make yourself some incredible ice cream. It's summer. You owe it to yourself.
